NORSE MYTHOLOGY SERIES | REALMS

↳ Jötunheimr, abode of the giants
Jötunheimr is filled with vast expanses of wilderness, rocky plains, mountainous regions, and dense forests. The giants that inhabited these lands, known as the jötunn or jötnar, were sworn enemies of the Æesir and Vanir, often noted in scriptures to be in opposition to or in competition with these god-races. Though they were not gods, their strength and skill were comparable to them, and the jötnar used these skills to wreak havoc on the humans of Miðgarðr.
